Erasmus+ Job Shadowing, Liceo „Attilio Bertolucci“, Parma, Italy

After about eleven years, Dr Nikolinka Fertala had the opportunity to meet my colleague Annalisa Martini at the Liceo „Attilio Bertolucci“ in Parma, Italy. Our first meeting was in 2013 when we started working on the Comenius project „ECOSWOT: Different places, different approaches to environmental challenges“ (https://ecoswotcomenius.wixsite.com/comenius/about).

The job shadowing took place between 27 April and 3 May 2025. Through this job shadowing I was able to compare the Austrian and Italian education systems, get a deep insight into the Italian inclusive pedagogy, develop new strategies for my future teaching and finally make new friends and potential project partners. In particular, I had the pleasure of participating in the joint project on the geology of the Dolomites that the Bertolucci students designed for one of the primary schools in Parma.

Finally, the cultural programme was also a must during the job shadowing. After all, Parma is the city where the EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) has its headquarter.
